Tweaked out space dude

28mm or 1:56 scale science fiction trooper. This guy is part of the planetFallers force and is a communications/combat drone operator. Sculpted mainly with Kraftmark ProCreate and PSI yellow/blue kneadatite for the understructure. The base is one from several I have lying around that's from a big name brand game and is for display purposes.

Done some tweaks:
Elongated the fingers on both hands.
Sanded and shaved  the edges of the shoulder pads.
Lengthened the one knee pad that was short.
Enhanced the nape of the helmet.

I'm eager and way tired to start the next one which is in the Warpunk genre. It's going to be awesome.

There are a couple of little tweaks I'd like to make but he's almost totally done.

Hoping for nice fingers.

A lot of sanding and carving later, I'm feeling slightly less temporarily disappointed with this guy and slightly more temporarily liking him. I sculpted a few additional details as well. Trying out a new technique for the hands, I hope to get nicer fingers out of it. Let's hope!

28mm Space Man from the Stars. (1:56)

1:56 Starship crew

1:56 scale is a good fit for the ubiquitous 28mm scale. The miniature was sculpted mostly in Kraftmark ProCreate with some PSI blue/yellow Kneadatite (AKA Green Stuff).

The design is meant to be simple, leaving ample room for the player to customize the uniform. It's somewhat of a military look with strong inspiration from fighting vehicle crew but with some stylistic differences. He's got some pouches and is holding a gadget. I wanted to give, rather than a pose of action, one of readiness or anticipation but at the same time confidence and professionalism.

I included some group photos along with my recent 1:56 sculpts.

I'm eager to work on the next miniature!

Comments, questions and criticism are most welcome.

A cocky space guy (28mm miniature)

More progress happening. This is a 1:56 scale or equivalent to most 28mm miniatures. The subject is a starship crew member.

The pose is one of readiness: reading a gadget and preparing to draw a weapon while keeping alert.

I realised in retrospect it might have been wiser to have given him a pose with one shoulder raised higher to accommodate holding the space-blaster. As he is he looks fine, I suppose. Came out surprisingly smug. Cocky, even.

Here's also my FOW tanks I'm working on. They've been primed, basecoated, chipping effect fluided and then painted with the base color. I think I'll do the chipping right away and then proceed with shading and drybrushing and the details after fixing the chipping with fixative (which is what I have).

10K views! Space, man.

Yo.

I suppose I might as well write some words to go along with the photos. An added value for you, my dear readers.

One important lesson I'm really seeing pay off is how nice it is to have anatomical mass in the right places before adding clothing. It makes it so the folds can't go in as deep as to suggest there's less person beneath them. Makes a more pleasing result.

I'm trying to make better boots. You can see I added a bit extra to the previous one. I think I'm sort of getting to a point where the shape is about right.

I want to have this sculpt with the one hand on a holstered laser pistol and the other holding a gadget.

Questions and comments and random stuff is welcome, as always.
